The faculty of Modern Law College is good in all regards. Of course there are a few exceptions but overall most teachers are experienced and qualified. They are also very helpful and considerate. Being a law college, it becomes obvious that all the lectures are strictly conducted in English.

There are 3 buildings in the Modern college campus, one for Law, Science & Commerce each. The classrooms are comfortable and each has a projector to catalyse the learning process. However, there are no AC classrooms. The washrooms are dirty. The entire college campus is Wi-Fi enabled and students are also allowed to use it freely. The library is not that big but all the required books are available. Sadly for those who are not local, there are no hostels in the campus.

PES’s Modern college is located in Ganeshkhind area, right across the main gate of Pune University campus. It is well connected with all parts of city by PMT buses. Buses have good frequency and they drop you right outside the gate of the college

College has an extremely small canteen, as good as non-existent. There’s no space to sit, just a small counter from where you can buy snacks. Full meals are not available. One good thing about it is that it’s moderately priced with Vada-Pav at Rs 7 only.

Pune University canteen is a good place to have cheap food and you catch the latest movie at E-square. Both are at a walking distance from the college.

Although not the best in city, the crowd is reasonably good. About half of the crowd belongs to the city of Pune and the other half comes from various parts of Maharashtra. Majority of the students are sincere and are seen attending the lectures during college and in the library afterwards. They also actively participate in extra-curricular events. So it’s a balanced crowd giving equal importance to studies and other events.

There are no annual cultural college festivals but their moot court is a state level event. Apart from that there’s a seminar held each Saturday. There are also debate clubs which keep arranging competitions periodically to sharpen your communication skills.

75% attendance is asked for and if you fall below it be ready to pay a fine of Rs 250 per lecture. But no severe action like stopping from sitting in the exam is taken.

Modern Law College has good staff and it’s a good college for pure academics. Had there been better infrastructure and more of extra-curricular activities this college would have been among the top colleges in city.
