The faculty at Pillai’s Institute Of Management Studies And Research is average and definitely not on the better side. The experienced professors are good but the new ones are not impressive. Again the marketing students win over the others. Visiting faculty are good but their frequency of visits is very low.

The infrastructure is quite decent with their auditorium, something worth a mention. All the other basic amenities are available like Wi-Fi on campus, air-conditioned classrooms equipped with projectors. All students are provided with laptops (they are planning to discontinue this due to complaints from students).

The placements have been 100% in the past few years with an average salary of 4 to 4.5 lakhs per annum. Placements under marketing are the best. Good support is lent by the college during summer internships as well. The maximum salary offered was a whopping Rs. 22 lakh in 2009 but usually it ranges between 7.5 to 8 lakhs. A minimum of Rs. 3.5 lakh is promised.

Located conveniently close to Panvel Railway Station, Pillai’s Institute of Management Studies & Research is a cool 10 minute walk from the tracks. If you wish to save even more time, and spend some more money, you could take a rickshaw which would get you there in not more than a couple of minutes.

There is a Linguistic Minority-Malayalam at Pillai’s Institute Of Management Studies And Research, as is the case with other institutes at the Pillai campus. The crowd is a good mixture of students from various backgrounds.

Attendance here is very strict, students are expected to maintain 75% compulsory, failing which they are start losing out on internal assessment marks and in extreme cases even “failed”.

A decent place to be in, life here is fun but placements can be a bit of issue due to low packages. If get into marketing specialization it’s wonderful, otherwise you may have to face the music.
