RRIT has a terrible teaching staff. A big bunch of inexperienced professors are seen in this college most of them just bragging about their life and the rest blabbering on any topic under the sun. Fortunately, there is the CADD professor which everyone seems to be in love with. Maths and CP teachers are pretty bad. Lecturers give long assignments and expect you to complete in less than a day. School kid treatment is what the frustrated students feel about themselves. Students who have finished their B.Tech recently are seen teaching various topics in the college. In a nutshell, teaching staff is extremely pathetic and a change is strongly recommended.

Well the engineering building is on the other side of the main campus and hence is pretty bad. The campus which has pharmacy, MBA and diploma course has still a tolerable infrastructure. The four storey engineering building has average non air conditioned classrooms. Thankfully, fans work properly and benches are comfortable enough to sit. Library is equipped only with textbooks and during exam time it’s difficult to find one. “As expected, there is no wifi connectivity in the college..only higher semester student get to use it”, quotes a frustrated a second year student from Nepal.

HP. Yeah Hewlett Packard is the only one recruiter in RR Institute of Technology. Definitely, HP is a big company for this college but they do recruit only a couple of deserving smart students. Overall, the scenario is very bad as only few students from the entire batch are placed. Mass recruiting company don't visit the college.

RR Institute of Technology is located in Chikkabanvara region far from the main city. Well the road to the college looks under construction (but that’s the permanent road) and not at all pleasant. The college is at stones throw distance from the railway track and the nearest station is Chikkabanavara. College provides bus facility at an annual charge of Rs. 5000. Some prefer to travel by their bikes while the rest choose BMTC buses (Bus number 250, 253 and 254 fro A to Z) whose frequency is pretty average. The bus drops you on the main road and one has to walk all the way to the college. All in all, accessibility is really bad!

Hostel facilities are equally pathetic. Four are stuffed in a room and are not cleaned regularly. Same is the case with the washrooms. Kerala and Karnataka students are definitely more adjusting to such a horrible condition but not the ones from North. Moreover, the hostel charges are Rs. 30,000 per annum including mess food which should be avoided.

Well, it’s namesake. A roadside food stall looks better than the RR canteen. Some call it as a cafeteria; we really wonder what an actual cafeteria is for them. Packed food item is the best as it’s hygienic. Normal food is also prepared in the canteen at economical rates but not at all tasty.

None! Students prefer to chill in their hostel rooms. Once in a while they go to Jalhalli and Rock Line mall which are pretty far from the college.

50% of the students are from Karnataka while the rest are from various parts of India; a couple of them are from outside India. There are less number of girls for all the departments. Crowd is not at all mingling types, some have attitude problems while some behave like villagers. Girls are narrow minded as they judge their peers by the way they dress. Moreover, they rarely make any friends from different regions of India. Having said that, the crowd is pretty dull. A big turn off for those who are expecting wonderful four years of engineering.

According to the VTU norms, students have to maintain the 85% mark failing which one has to pay a fine from Rs. 500 to Rs. 5000 depending upon the level of attendance. Cases of detention are rare but fine are must to compensate for the same.
As a part of a disciplinary act, boys have to compulsorily wear a collar t-shirt or a shirt. Round neck tshirts are a straight no. Oh my God!
