Shadan College of Engineering & Technology (SCET) boasts of experienced professors apart from the first year, wherein majority of the subjects are covered by the junior lecturers. Higher years have excellent teaching faculty. And fortunately, they're pretty friendly too.

Faculty is not supportive. They don't allow students to do creative projects specially (IT & CSE department). There is not even a faculty who can teach good programming in the entire college.

As you enter the campus through an almost non-existent gate, the first glance begins to pour in doubts about the infrastructure. Once you're in, you'll start hoping that the structure remains intact till you get out from here. Students complain that apart from the CSE and IT labs, everything else needs a makeover! "Don't be fooled by the couple of nicely maintained labs that you see during the admission season. Others are not even half as good." warns a third year student of Shadan College.

Shadan College of Engineering & Technology (SCET) loses out on this front. Except a handful of toppers, who get a little guidance from their professors, there's nothing related placements happening here. Almost everyone has to manage in their own way.

Fifteen kilometres West of Koti, just as the urban civilization starts diminishing, the vast campus of Shadan College of Engineering & Technology (SCET) is seen approaching to the right. About 10-12 RTC buses cater the area mostly from the 288 series, with 288D being the most frequent. Nearly half the students use RTC buses while the others come by College Buses (Rs. 8000 per year), their own vehicles or shared-cabs.

The canteen was allocated an unused space underground a few years back. And it still remains unused, probably, on account of the bad maintenance, tasteless food and unpleasant atmosphere.

It's location being in the outskirts of Hyderabad, Shadan College of Engineering & Technology (SCET) does not provide the comfort of choosing a favourite hangout depending on the mood. You just have to settle whatever is available in adjacent areas like Gandipet, Himayat Sagar and Narsingi or head all the way to Mehdipatnam or Banjara Hills.

Since Shadan College of Engineering & Technology (SCET) is a minority institute, Muslims far outnumber the others. Category A seats are completely occupied by Muslims, while a mixed crowd turns up for the Category B seats. Overall, the crowd is urban and lively and apart from a few conservative chaps, others seem approachable and friendly.

Unfortunately, Shadan College of Engineering & Technology (SCET) does not support the celebration of any kind of entertaining events. Students either just decide amongst themselves and have a small sports meet or avoid it altogether.

Shadan College of Engineering & Technology (SCET) is relaxed as far as attendance is concerned. They recommend 75%, but instances with students having 40% attendance also scraping through have been reported. Defaulters are warned, their parents may be called and they may also have to attend a few extra lectures, but in the end they're allowed to appear for University exams. And students feel relieved with that.

Not a bad place for average scorers to finish their course as the academics are great and the college is relatively liberal with discipline. However, poor infrastructure and almost no placements push it down a bit.
