PLEASE ENTER!

Ever rationally, with a composed mind, thought as to why there are entrance exams? Now, please don’t tell me you require some exam to enter a college and shit! PLEASE! Even don’t say they want to evaluate you or exam is a parameter of judging of where you stand in the ever competitive society!

It is basically a very beautifully crafted legally accepted scam to extort money from you, make you believe how important some irrelevant set of questions thrown at you will benefit your life later on. I know my chafed ranting is going to do less than squat to change the scenario but this post is just a reminder of what we go through. Like I have been mentioning man has a very erratic memory pattern and that when one forgets bomb blasts, rapes, fake encounters, inflation and corruption; it is quite evident a puny factor like an entrance exam scam will not continue lingering in his mind.

Some examples will surely bolster my judgments. Remember how we give some exam called Common Entrance Test (CET) for getting into Engineering Colleges. We studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths of which hardly anything was applied in practical life. The businessmen kept such subjects for you to pass with flying colors and choose colleges where you would learn hardcore engineering subjects and nothing relevant to what you studied to enter that place. It is like learning salsa and then going to an institute which teaches you lavani. Also a form which can be xeroxed for less than 10 rupees is sold at a rate of 1000 bucks. It’s all about the money honey! Convinced? Not yet?

Well, there is the CAT and the JEE! Yes, I may not be smart enough to crack those, but I am wise enough to figure out those exams are unnecessarily blown out of proportion! Why do you need an exam to manage and handle a business organization? Maybe this is my inexperience and lack of imagination talking but somewhere deep inside your little mind, your voice is agreeing right? Where is the NOT following documented statistics and going by some book and where is THE following your gut, taking risks, failing time and again, learning and rising up to glory? No “ENTRANCE EXAM” can help you imbibe this attitude.

On the contrary, exams metaphorically create a prophylactic shell which protects you from taking risks without a written test and strongly deters you from following your instincts. Exams train you in a very malevolent way to literally go by the book and not think. This attitude is unhealthy as far as trying something on your own is concerned. It is not an exam but a belief in yourself which decides your fate.
