The students are actually satisfied with their teachers and are all praise for them. “Our permanent teachers are the best; only those who come for an ad hoc basis don’t teach too well” says a student. The faculty consists of a healthy blend of junior and senior teachers.

The sprawling campus of Lakshmibai College spreads over a few acres of land and comprises a red-bricked structure and a lush green lawn which gives an excellent first impression. But students here have an exactly opposite opinion about the insides. “Dikhawe pe mat jao, apni akal lagao” quotes a student, describing the hindrances they face in everyday college life – lights and fans are only occasionally operational, classrooms are small and unhygienic and restrooms are unbearably stinky. Labs and the library are decent though and students have no complaints regarding functionality of equipments in labs or availability of books in the library.

None of the companies visit the campus for placements and students desiring to take up a job have to apply through the Central Placement Cell (CPC). However, most of the students opt for higher studies.

Lakshmibai College is located in Ashok Vihar Phase 3 which anyone familiar to this area would know is quite far from the nearest Metro station – Shastri Park – on the Red Line. Two buses - 166 and 912 drop you right outside the college and reaching the college is a slight difficulty unless you take a rick.

A spacious and hygienic atmosphere is a perfect disguise for this college’s canteen which serves tasteless food with few varieties to choose from. Although it’s fairly cheap the students usually don’t prefer it; “We’d rather get our own tiffins from home” says a student. Noodles and Pav Bhaaji are the only dishes you should probably get your hands on.

Lakshmibai College doesn’t have too many food joints or places to just hang around very near to the college. S-Square, Oberoi restaurant and Deep Market are some of the popular places nearby which the girls from Lakshmibai College are fond of. The next place they can think of is Connaught Place!

Students come from different parts of the country; although majority are Delhi-ites there is a good blend of students with diverse backgrounds. The crowd in courses like Hindi (H) and Sanskrit (H) comes from a slightly rural background and appears to be conservative in nature. Overall it’s a pretty good atmosphere but obviously nothing compared to other North Campus colleges.

The college is relatively lax about attendance as compared to other Delhi University (DU) colleges wherein the 66% criteria is strictly followed. Here, students are let go without any warnings up to 60% attendance, below which a few warnings are given but no severe action is taken.

Lakshmibai College is a decent college with good teaching but lacks infrastructural facilities. Students however, prefer it way down at the last positions.
