Most of the faculty members are junior teachers and not very experienced. Students don’t have any complains towards them as they also teach well. Some senior faculty members are there and they are very good.

The college was established in 2001 but buildings look quite old and ancient. The classrooms are comfortable and labs are well equipped. There are 3 buildings for engineering. The campus isn’t Wi-Fi enabled but internet can be accessed from any of the computer lab. Students are happy with the library and find it well stocked.

The placements in Meenakshi Sundararajan college are very good. Above 90% students are placed. Most of the companies visiting the college are IT firms. Some of the companies that recruit are: TCS, HCL, Tech Mahindra etc. They offer a package of around 2.5 to 3 Lakh.
Very few core companies come but still the number of core companies visiting the college is far more than in other colleges.

Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College (MSEC) is located in the busy area of Kodambakkam. The college is located on the main road itself making it highly accessible. There are many MTC buses plying by Kodambakkam. Students mostly travel by these buses. There are some students travelling by their own vehicle and a few making use of the trains. The nearest railway station is Kodambakkam.

Hostel rooms are neat and clean. There are 2 or 3 people in a room. The mess food is decent; better than many of the other colleges. The hostel fees are Rs 12,000 per year.
Sport grounds and facilities are available but students are not allowed to use during the college hours. The grounds are usually used only by the members of the college teams.

There are two canteens. There is an open air canteen named Byte-Inn which is relatively expensive. The other canteen is cheap and value for money. The meal here is good and it’s just for Rs 30.

The crowd has a good mixture of localities and hostel-ites. Students find it easy to get along with each other. Students usually are content with being in the college and don’t dare to bunk lectures and get out of the college campus.

Students are expected to maintain attendance above 85-90%. The college makes sure that the attendance doesn’t fall below 80%. The arents are called when the attendance falls even a below 85%.
Formals are compulsory like most other colleges; even a bit of casual attire is forbidden. The students are not allowed to roam around in the college during the college hours. Even when students need to take holiday they have to take permission beforehand.

Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College is a very good college among the private colleges in Chennai. It is old, reputed and is generally preferred in top 10 options. The college has good faculty and good placements, but lack of freedom is something what students complain.
