Teachers are highly qualified and have various specialisations to their credit. They also put up sincere efforts in teaching. Senior professors have got a lot of experience and are known to teach good. Students like the senior teachers but unfortunately, the same cannot be said for junior members.

The campus appears in good shape and the pure white building glazing in the bright sun ensures you're thrown aback the first time you see it. However, there's an altogether different story once you're inside. Students demand for frequent updating of the equipment in ECE and EEE labs and better computer systems in CSE & IT departments. Although library has got more than 25,000 books, students don't always get the books of their choice. Library is cramped up but there's a separate spacious reading room.
Sports facilities are something that students at Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College (NMREC) appreciate. Football, cricket, basketball and volleyball as well as indoor sports like carrom and chess find some space here.

Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College (NMREC) gets companies like HCL, Infosys, Syntel and other local companies for recruiting students. They also put in efforts to groom students by conducting mock interviews and providing language developement material. About 100 to 150 students manage to secure a job on-campus.

Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College (NMREC) is located in an extremely remote area, about 3 kilometres from Narapally on the Warangal Highway in North-Eastern Hyderabad's Ghatkesar Mandal. Over 90% of the students utilize the College Buses to reach the college as travelling by RTC buses (245A, 245J, 245, 280N, 280, 492, 545) is inconvenient. Charges for the bus service range between Rs. 13,000 and Rs. 18,000 depending on the distance.

Boys hostel is inside the campus while the girls hostel is within walking distance. While the boys hostel is decent, the girls hostel need more rooms to accommodate everyone comfortably.

The canteen at Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College (NMREC) serves hygienic and nutrious food. Students however don't really like it and they crave for tasty food and having more variety would do no harm. Space constraints add to the woes.

The crowd is initially very cheerful, spirited and exuberant. However, unreasonably stringent rules gradually make everyone the same - dull and repressed. Occasional sharing of the same frustration that everyone goes through brings about short moments of laughter and some ideas of protests which fail to take off.

An intra-college techfest is conducted in March every year by students. This is the time of year when students get to escape the mundane daily routine and stress of academics. Other events include project exhibition and annual day called 'Samshiti'.

College motto has been to teach discipline along with formal education and insists on regular attendance. Anyone who does not maintain the required percentage is detained. You can't step into the campus/class even one-minute late (okay may be you can, but your attendance won't be counted for that lecture anyway). Anyone who dares to bunk more than 3 lectures out of 10 is doomed. Fines as high as Rs. 3000 are levied on defaulters while those crossing the 65% attendance mark are suspended.
Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College (NMREC) has no place for ragging and has enforced numerous restrictions for the same. I-cards have to be worn all day long to identify students who loiter around. A sky blue shirt and a navy blue trouser is their dress code (3 pairs of which have to be bought from college) to avoid any kind of discrimination. Gates remain closed and no one's allowed to leave the campus till the end of the day, except for emergency. College timing is 9:30 am to 4:10 pm.

Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College (NMREC) has built a strong reputation since it was established more than a decade ago. However, college authorities need to take actions to maintain its respectable position amongst the top engineering colleges of Ghatkesar.
