The faculty for the architecture course is pretty average, though the college is one of the oldest architecture colleges in the country. Undoubtedly, the professors are way experienced and have immense knowledge about their subject. Teachers for design and construction are pretty good and students rarely miss any lectures of the same.
The faculty for Planning is quite interactive and involves students for all their subject topics. Thus, the rapport between the teachers and students is quite awesome. Most of the lectures are conducted in English while a few prefer Hindi.

There are two separate buildings for the School of Planning and Architecture and both don’t have the same campus. The Planning building is located right on the main road and has a small campus with few but huge trees. The lecture rooms are air conditioned and washrooms are almost clean. The Architecture building is situated on the outer Ring Road and takes around two minutes walking from the Planning building. There is a volleyball court right at the entrance of the college where you see students chilling and relaxing most of the times. The studios (architecture classrooms) are quite hug and well maintained, though improvement is needed. The wifi enabled campus has an air conditioned library which has books of all the courses but not available in abundance.

There is no placement cell and students generally are okay with that. Since, the college has a big name in the architecture world, off campus jobs and internships aren’t a problem.

School of Planning and Architecture is located in a security tightened area of Delhi, Pragati Maidan, where you see hundreds of government offices and officials in the surrounding areas. The college is accessible by both Pragati Maidan and Indraprastha Metro stations on the blue line, Pragati being the closest as it roughly takes 10 minutes walking. Located in almost the heart of Delhi, connectivity and accessibility to the college is never a problem.

There is a girls hostel in the Planning building. The facilities are average and girls seem satisfied with it. There is no boys hostel within the campus. It’s located around 10 kilometers in Maharani Baug.

There are two canteens in the college. Both are average and decently tasty. Variety is a problem though prices are pretty nominal. Students generally prefer packed food items.

As the college is easily accessible to any part of Delhi, hangouts are never a problem in this college. Generally, you see students going to Connaught Place as its a few kilometres away from the college. Movie lovers go to Shakuntlam Theatre at Pragati Maidam though Plaza at CP is the biggest multiplex. As it’s a government bound area, you rarely see any road side hawkers or food joints. Thus, local and less expensive hangouts are a problem.

As the college is well known for its best architecture program throughout the country, you certainly see students from all parts of India here. Being in Delhi, the major crowd isn’t from the main city and is extremely diversified. There are almost equal number of boys and girls. You see dozens of posters saying ‘ragging is strictly prohibited’ though there’ve been cases in the past. It’s reduced to considerable extent.

'Utopia', the annual festival of the School of Planning and Architecture, is held in the month of January.
Well, in other architecture colleges, students participate in NASA. Here, the college itself is the governing body of the same. Students get a lot of exposure and participate on a huge scale.

SPA, adorable reference for School of Planning and Architecture, is very strict in attendance matters and they follow the 75% norm religiously. Students failing to reach the mark directly get a year drop and there’ve been ALOT of cases in the past. So, attendance at this college should not be taken lightly.

Well, if attendance is not considered, it’s definitely an ideal college to be in. School of Planning and Architecture is one of the best architecture colleges in the country and the best in Delhi. One needs a mind blowing rank in the entrance exam to get through.
