There are few senior professors and most of the teaching is handled by the ad-hoc junior faculty who are very approachable and helpful. Students have nothing but words of appreciation for their teachers and they are strongly of the opinion that they wouldn’t manage to pass without their support. “But seniors are boring sometimes” says a student. Well in which college are they not!

It’s got the same old architecture similar to every other Government college under the Delhi University – an endless campus with various sporting fields and gardens and a red brick structure home to classrooms with ancient furniture, a huge library with a great collection of books (a few of which keep collecting dust) and filthy-looking restrooms. The labs are well-equipped and a conference room and a seminar hall add icing to the cake.

The placement cell at Bharati College is very active and draws a number of companies to the college. Students from BCom(H) are ones who mostly get placed into consultancy companies with hefty salaries being offered. Other students can also apply and get placed but most of them prefer to go for higher education and placements don’t really matter for them.

Bharati College is located bang opposite Tihar Jail, somewhat far from Janakpuri East Metro station on the Blue line and needs to be accessed using another mode of transport after reaching the Metro station. Buses, Rickshaws and Gramin Sewa RTV's are easily available and as such it isn’t much of a headache reaching the college. Student coming from the Dwarka-end can also avail of numerous bus services from Uttam Nagar-East Metro station as well.

There’s hardly anything really close at hand and “District Centre” is the most popular hangout destination. Dominos, Baskin Robbins, and a movie theatre are preferable. Many however, wish to go longer and Rajouri Garden is the next big thing in this area where you come across a huge mall and a multiplex theatre surrounded by restaurants every cuisine in the world you can think of.

Not really worth appreciating – most students come from distant areas like Najafgarh and Dwarka are having a slightly close-minded attitude. Most importantly, it’s an all girls college having its own advantages – NO guys J and disadvantages – no GUYS L
The crowd is found to be better in BCom(H) and BA English(H) courses.

“Abhivyakti”, Bharati College’s annual cultural festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and hosts numerous events like debates, rangoli competitions, band performances etc. Besides this there are a hundred events organized by the various societies at a small level every now and then. So there is enough opportunities to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities and achieve overall development.

Students with attendance of 90% and above are given full marks for attendance and marks are deducted proportionally for below 90%. Up to 66% attendance is allowed as a general rule in Delhi University and the college strictly follows it. There have been cases of students being debarred for having low attendance, so beware of that.

I am also in Bharti college and guess what it is fun to be in. Teachers are good and campus is like from British era. :) And classrooms are big although some are small. But the Hindi honours and other non popular courses have 'behenji' crowd. Rest crowd is cool
